What?! Sarah Painted Something?!

So I am a hoarder of my own paintings. I find it incredibly difficult to give away larger paintings and by larger I mean not a card that I painted for a purpose. Last year, I painted a fox told my friend she could have it after I found it a frame. Basically I hung it up on a clipboard on my wall and never gave it to her. Shameful. So I started this painting with the intention of giving it to Jeffery, but I might have to "hold onto it while I look for a frame" ;).

It was nearly done at this point. I started it a few weeks ago...and just finished it tonight. For me it is so difficult to start a painting, set it aside, and comeback to it to complete it. I basically have to do it all in one fell swoop to keep me focused. Otherwise I look at it and am like ..eh... not right now been there started that.

Almost done....

Finished! It is finals week so I thought it was the perfect night to get some painting done! Studying? What? Who needs that? I might part with this sooner rather than later... he kinda has crazy eyes. Not bad crazy eyes but crazy eyes none the less.

These are some card that I drew and just never painted. They sit stacked on my desk. (Ignore the yellow sweat pants, and keyboard in need of cleaning.)

If you couldn't tell I enjoy painting and drawing foxes. lol.

Hope you enjoyed my stuff.

Little Bit of My Casita

Here is my table in use. The side table is a stump that we had at the house that I sanded down.
There is the table the was refinished.
The small stain glass is one that my mom and I made.
I made the pennant, and painted the frame and picture.

My couch is the most uncomfortable couch.. ever (Target), but! It sure is cute.
I figured the more pillows I make for it the more comfortable it is, and I have to admit the pillows did make an improvement.

A little Can go A Long ways

It is amazing how little adjustments can make pieces look so much better.

For instance: Just having my pictures in frames makes them look better, and a little primer paint and tape can make blah frames look entirely different. (I need to remember to take before pictures) I chose for the frames to look like a set but still be a little different just to add a little more visual interest.

I am so happy with how this project turned out. These will hang nicely on the side of a large window in my living room.

Arrows

This is a piece that I created for the purpose of creating a screen print to create cup towels with but when I was done I liked it so much that I decided to paint it as well, and display it in my apartment. Truth be told the painting came out better than my screen. I love the colors, and hope you do too.

Hispanic Contemporary Market

Ok so this happened last weekend I just haven't had a chance to post it. It was so much fun, it was held in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and there were tons of booths with so many unique pieces of art work.

I loved the colors of these pieces of furniture.

There were quite a few artists with pieces that had a Dia de los Muertos theme going on, they were very interesting

I loved that the artist of these used natural rocks that were already so beautiful with the moss and colors, and he didn't alter the natural beauty but added to it with the cute little birds perched upon it.

1). I like Giraffes, and 2). I like when unexpected supplies are used.

As my mother and I were walking she was looking for her cousins name that she had met a couple of weeks ago,  for the first time since childhood. My mom was able to spot her because she recognized some of her art that she had shown her when my mom visited.

It was a nice day, and even the weather was on our side it was a little overcast with some nice cloud cover so it wasn't even a scorching day.

A Post Card.

This is actually a post card that I made for my best friend. I haven't seen him in quite a while and I miss him dearly.
